Our company's mission is to develop safe, simple, and reliable US made aerobic exercise apparatus for athletic and health minded manual wheelchair users at an affordable price.

In the spring of 2005 Christopher Stanford attempted to add a gaming interface to a conventional ramp & roller wheelchair exercise trainer without success. That summer he experimented with the idea of an equivalent kinetic energy trainer for a wheelchair, a device that would provide the wheelchair user with a similar workout as if they were traveling on level terrain. By that fall he conceived of an alternative method of engaging a wheelchair into a roller and flywheel system and built the first prototype device in his garage.

Since that time 6 working prototypes have been developed with progressive functional, performance and safety improvements. Each successive prototype has received evaluation and critique from wheelchair athletes, home wheelchair users, recreational therapists, physical therapists, kinesiologists and spinal cord injury physicians. This unique device has significant potential as a simple, effective and affordable aerobic exercise device for the home wheelchair user and athlete as well as a powerful diagnostic tool for the medical clinician to conveniently evaluate patient performance in their own wheelchair without changing wheels and handrims.

Trekease Corporation was created with the objective of developing this unique and useful wheelchair aerobic exercise device. It is a privately held Service Connected Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business based in Austin, Texas.
